2019 Overwatch League: May Match Preview

These Week 5 matches of Stage 2 are the perfect way to get yourself all hyped up for the second stage playoffs of the current OWL season. 

May is looking set to be another absolutely thrilling month in the 2019 Overwatch League, and that’s not just because we have the Stage 2 Playoffs coming up soon. If the second month of the season was any indication, at least, we’ve only really begun to see the long-awaited return of DPS picks, with the league’s teams expected to start running more and more non-GOATS compositions in their rotations as they continue to figure things out. Moreover, as many fans were hoping, the meta shift away from 3-3 seems to have favored certain teams more than others, making things a lot more competitive this time around, compared to how things went in Stage 1.

So with that in mind, here’s a preview of the matchups you definitely need to look out for this May (outside of the actual playoffs, of course), if you want to see the very best of the kind of action you can only get from the teams of the Overwatch League.

Guangzhou Charge vs. Houston Outlaws (3 May, 12:00 pm GMT+8)

While the Charge haven’t exactly had the best of luck in Stage 2, they’re certainly no stranger to multi-DPS comps, and the impressive run they pulled off back in Stage 1 seems to suggest that their recent lack of wins is simply a matter of them still working things out.
