Defense has been a key factor in many 2018 World Cup matches, and Sweden has done a better job of it than most. Will England find a way to score?
The 2018 World Cup has been chock-full of surprises, from stunning group stage match results that favored underdogs rather than favorites to the most unlikely teams qualifying for the round of 16. But few other squads surprised (pleasantly, at that) their fans more than England, who have made it to the quarter-finals for the first time since 2006. And this Saturday, the Three Lions will be facing Sweden, to see which of them will be moving on to the semis. Despite falling short of an impressive performance back during the qualifiers schedule, the Sweden football team surprised everyone by making it to the advancing out of a group that included a solid Mexico squad and previous FIFA World Cup winners Germany. Somewhat predictably, predictions right now are leaning towards Gareth Southgate’s fresh and shiny England team, but Sweden’s results so far haven’t really been anything to scoff at.
